Rice tells Russia not to make threats
Switzerland News.Net Wednesday 20th August, 2008
The United States and Poland have signed the US missile defence deal, much to the annoyance of Russia.
The deal took place on Wednesday to place a U.S. missile defense base just 115 miles from Russia.
The deal follows an earlier agreement to place the second component of the missile defense shield, a radar tracking system, in the neighboring Czech Republic, another formerly communist country now in NATO.
Many Poles believe the accord will guarantee them safety, in the face of a newly assertive Russia.
Negotiators sealed the deal last week against a backdrop of Russian military action in Georgia, with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice attending the official signing on Wednesday.
Ms Rice dismissed the suggestion that the ten missile defense interceptors, which Washington says are intended to defend Europe from the possible threat of long-distance missiles from Iran, represent a threat to Russia.
She denounced an earlier threat from a Russian general to target NATO member Poland, possibly even with nuclear weapons, for accepting the facility.
She said: "The Russians are losing their credibility. When you threaten Poland, you perhaps forget that it is not 1988. It's 2008 and the United States has a firm treaty guarantee to defend Poland's territory. So it's probably not wise to throw these threats around."

Rice tells Russia not to make threats
Too bad Iran hasn’t got an ally as powerful as the U.S. or they’d be able to tell Rice to heed her own advice.

Sounding the war-drums and spreading rumers are the tools of the financial speculators to keep their easy profits high
This little August war was planned to keep the oil prices high and keep the US Dollar from rising, it is all part of the masterplan to increase the profits of those who control the world economies.
If prices begin to fall they open up a conflict to raise immidiately their speculative profits, and then they send un-deplomatic personell to istigate, and make things worse by creating and stimulating tensions between nations, this is an insurance policy to keep the rising price of oil, as well as the drain on the US Dollar.
Rumors, and sounding the war-drums are the tools of the financial speculators, and the arms manufacturers to sell more arms.

What was I thinking
I sound like a nut.
Wars happen it’s not a big conspiracy from WTO or even speculators but simply expansionist policies of Russia and Georgia butting heads.
This is about oil pipelines money and power.
Russia wants it the western powers want it and the battle is on going.
This brushfire war will expand much like WWI and WWII from pacts and promises of protection.
