Geneva, SANA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reasserted the need for eliminating terrorism in Idleb, calling on the international community to contribute in a real way in combating terrorism which constitutes a threat to international security and stability.

Lavrov pointed out during his speech at the 43th session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Tuesday that some states support terrorists to carry out their personal agendas, citing the situation with Idleb province as an example of that, asserting the importance of eliminating terrorism there.

He said that the positions of some member states seek to justify the atrocities of the terrorist organizations, and the talk about a truce with the terrorists in Idleb doesn't represent care for human rights; rather it constitutes support for terrorists in a blatant violation of international agreements and UN Security Council Resolutions.

Lavrov said the international community must combat terrorism wherever it is, because it constitutes a threat for international security and stability.
